WHAT'S UP IN CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

HAVE YOU HEARD THE BUZZ?

BUZZ is our all new curriculum that is now being offered in our preschool classes and in KIDMO! BUZZ is not your ordinaary Sunday School class with a story, snack, and coloring sheet. Instead it is an energetic, lively time of fun engaging activities that reinforce the Bible truths and main point that is emphasized each week.

BUZZ for preschool is all done in each classroom for our three year olds, four year olds, and Kindergarten classes. For KIDMO or elementary students, kids begin in the KIDMO ROOM for a time of large group activities before breaking out into their small age graded groups for the lesson and more.

Elementary kids will continue to meet in the KIDMO ROOM for check in and a small snack as they get started in BUZZ as soon as they arrive with BUZZ BOND. During Buzz Bond kids get to talk about themselves, their families, their pets, and basically their lives. This helps to build relationships with each other and their leaders. Even new kids will feel welcome and more at ease as they take time to share with each other using some wacky gadgets to get them talking. During this time, kids can also share their GOD SIGHTINGS- ways they saw God at work in thier lives this week. We encourage families to all look for God Sightings everyday and share them with each other. You might see God at work in His creation or through another person. Or you might even be a God Sighting for someone else as you put His Word into action.

After BUZZ Bond, the kids enjoy a time of PRAISE AND WORSHIP lead by our very own Kids Praise Leaders and our Kids Praise Team. (Kids Praise meetins inbetween services to practive and learn music that is presented during KIDMO. Kids Praise is also working on an Easter Musical that will be presented at our EASTER CELEBRATION on Palm Sunday. For more information, contact Pam Lehr at 304-263-9083 to learn how your child can be involved.)

After Praise and Worship, kids break out into their age graded small groups- 1st and 2nd graders stay together and 3rd through 5th graders go to their own rooms. That's when the fun really begins. Kids start out with BIBLE BUZZ. This is where the Bible Lesson is not only taught, but kids get to do a lot of different activites that reinforce what they just learned. From music activites, writing, actiing it out, and everything inbetween kids learn in different styles and engage thus really knowing the lesson and the main point.

BIBLE BUZZ leads into BUZZ in ACTION where kids take what they just learned and break it down into how to live it out in their everyday lives. This is where they learn to apply the Bible to their own worlds. Class ends with a time for prayer in the LET'S PRAY session where kids don't just listen to a teacher pray, but actually learn to pray in creative ways.

And it doesn't end when church is over! All kids recieve a FAITH BUZZ AT HOME CARD to take home along with a learning toy to reinforce what they are learning at church and give parents a creative tool for initiating God conversations at home. Be sure your child gets their card each week. Put on the refrigerator or soemwhere that your family will look at through out the week.

Thats the BUZZ! We think it's really cool and we think your kids will too. So if they have never been to class or haven't been in a while, now would be agood time to come for visit- so they can start BUZZING about all the things God is doing for them everyday!

WELCOME TO RIGHT TRACK CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Welcome to Right Track Children's Ministries! We are so glad to have your family visit our church where we believe that kids matter to God! Our desire is simple, to win kids to Christ and grow the spiritually. We do this as a team- the church and parents partnering together.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) tells us to "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." We want to help parents get their kids on the "right track" and keep them on it, following God's Word as they grow up.

Along the track we desire that kids would be:

Knowledgeable in the Bible- We want children to know the Bible and be taught the truth found in God's Word. This comes through our various classes, curriculum, and trained teachers as well as other resources.

Intimate in Worship- We encourage kids to get involved and intimately worship God through praise and worship in our classes, services, and special activities.

Involved in Service- Kids can realize their importance and worth to God by discovering their gifts, talents, and interests at early ages and using them to serve others in our community, region, and world.

Purposeful in Prayer- Kids are taught how to pray and given opportunities to pray for themselves, each other, and people around the world. It is exciting to allow children to pray and then see God answer their prayers.

Fully Committed to the cause of Christ- We desire for all children when they are able to express what they believe about Christ to commit their lives to Jesus and follow Him in baptism. This may be different ages for different children and we partner with the parents to help them discern when their son or daughter is ready. Children are then encouraged and taught how to live out their lives in following God and telling others about His Son.

1st TIME GUEST INFORMATION

If you are going to be a first time guest, you can call us ahead of time and let us know you are coming and we will glady arrange for someone to meet you at the Welcome Center.  We will show you and your children to their classes. You may arrange this by calling Mrs. Gail at 304-876-2212 x33- Mon-Thur.

Upon entering the building, make your way to the Children's Area by following the overhead directional signs.  Once you are in the Children's Area, signage will also direct you to the right classroom. All visitors are asked to fill out a "VISITOR CARD". These can be found in any classroom or nursery and one card can be filled out for multiple children in the same family.

Our teachers and volunteers can instruct you on how to fill out our "sign in" forms and receive a security label that you must present when checking out your child. This number will also be used in the event of an unconsolable child in the nurseries or in case we need to find you. The number will flash on the big screens in the Worship/Activity Center where we hold our services.

Please note that if your child is potty training, has allergies, or any special needs, there is a place to indicate on the "sign in" form so our teachers can provide the best care possible. It is good for you to also mention these things verbally to the child's teacher when you sign them in.

We sincerely hope you and your family have a pleasant and welcoming experience here at Covenant.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Right Track Children's Ministry is always on the look out for loving adults and teens to serve on our Children's Ministry Team. There are many ways to serve as assistants, teachers, office help, snack helpers, special event teams, and more. We need vounteers and teachers in our nursery, preschool, kindergarten, Kidmo, and World Changer Programs.

To learn more about how you can get involved and be a part of the team that is shaping this generation of the church and reaching out to kids that need to know about Jesus, please contact Mrs. Gail at 304-876-2212 x33 or email me at gscheffers@covenant-mail.com. We will mail you a screening form, along with a brief description of our policies. Once you return the screening form, we complete reference checks and background checks on all volunteers serving in the classrooms and nurseries.

Experience is always helpful, but not required. Commitment is necessary, but we do allow our up and coming volunteers to figure out how and where to serve according to their gifts and calling. We basically want people who love kids and want to build relationship with them to help them on their journey to following Jesus. Teacher Training is also offered throughout the year.
