SPECIAL EVENTS

SUPER SOUPER BOWL PARTY- 2012

The GIANTS or the PATRIOTS? Who will it be for Football's biggest game of the year?  Join us for our annual celebration the first Sunday in February at the 9 and 11 am services in the Great Room for our big party day!

Every year we do a big day with a football theme that actually helps our kids feed the needy in our area called our SUPER SOUPER BOWL PARTY. We ask all of our kids, adults and football fans in general to bring in cans of soup or other non perishable items and place in the bins for either the GIANTS or the PATRIOTS- whicher team they to win the Super Bowl. We count up the items to see if we can predict the winner which we have in all but one of the games in the past several years.

There will be special football style snacks, games, and a theme of TEAM WORK! Kids are encouraged to dress up in RED if they are for the GIANTS or BLUE if they are for the PATRIOTS to show their team spirit. All kids are encouraged to bring their friends to one of the best events of the year.

Parents are invited to attend and help out with the events.

For more information, please contact Jennifer at jsatterlee@covenant-mail.com or call 304-876-2212 ext 45.

WELCOME TO RIGHT TRACK

Welcome to Right Track Children's Ministries! We are so glad to have your family visit our church where we believe that kids matter to God! Our desire is simple, to win kids to Christ and grow them spiritually. We do this as a team- the church and parents partnering together.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) tells us to "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." We want to help parents get their kids on the "right track" and keep them on it, following God's Word as they grow up.

Along the track we desire that kids would be:

Knowledgeable in the Bible- We want children to know the Bible and be taught the truth found in God's Word. This comes through our various classes, curriculum, and trained teachers as well as other resources.

Intimate in Worship- We encourage kids to get involved and intimately worship God through praise and worship in our classes, services, and special activities.

Involved in Service- Kids can realize their importance and worth to God by discovering their gifts, talents, and interests at early ages and using them to serve others in our community, region, and world.

Purposeful in Prayer- Kids are taught how to pray and given opportunities to pray for themselves, each other, and people around the world. It is exciting to allow children to pray and then see God answer their prayers.

Fully Committed to the cause of Christ- We desire for all children when they are able to express what they believe about Christ to commit their lives to Jesus and follow Him in baptism. This may be different ages for different children and we partner with the parents to help them discern when their son or daughter is ready. Children are then encouraged and taught how to live out their lives in following God and telling others about His Son.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND VERSE TRACKS

One way we help facilitate growth in children's knowledge of the Bible, Bible skills, and memory verses is to engage our parents to be the PRIMARY FAITH INFLUENCER for their family. We have a SPIRITUAL GROWTH TRACK that families can use with various components representing Bible knowledge, skills, or participation that will help put your child on "track" for growing in God's Word.

Another tool is our VERSE TRACK with two Bible verses per month for your child to memorize for elementary students and one Bible words per month for preschoolers to memorize through out the year. These are basic foundational scriptures that once your child learns them, will be remembered probably the rest of their lives.

When a child is comfortable with repeating the information or verse to their teacher, their teacher will track their growth on charts displayed in the classrooms. Parents can also take the tracks home and keep up with their progress at home.

This is a great tool to get your children started on a life long journey of Biblical truth and foundation for them to build on. For more information please contact Mrs. Gail at gscheffers@covenant-mail.com.

1st TIME GUEST INFORMATION

If you are going to be a first time guest, you can call us ahead of time and let us know you are coming and we will glady arrange for someone to meet you at the Welcome Center.  We will show you and your children to their classes. You may arrange this by calling Mrs. Gail at 304-876-2212 x33- Mon-Thur.

Upon entering the building, make your way to the Children's Area by following the overhead directional signs.  Once you are in the Children's Area, signage will also direct you to the nurseries or the sign in room for the preschool and elementary children. All visitors are asked to fill out a "VISITOR CARD". These can be found in any classroom or nursery and one card can be filled out for multiple children in the same family. Infants and toddlers are signed into the nursery directly while other children are signed in the SIGN IN ROOM and then go to the DEPOT where we "do energetic praise and offerings together!" After the DEPOT kids make their way to their own age appropriate classroom for Bible lessons and more.

Our teachers and volunteers can instruct you on how to fill out our "sign in" forms and receive a security label that you must present when checking out your child. This number will also be used in the event of an unconsolable child in the nurseries or in case we need to find you. The number will flash on the big screens in the Worship/Activity Center where we hold our services.

Please note that if your child is potty training, has allergies, or any special needs, there is a place to indicate on the "sign in" form so our teachers can provide the best care possible. It is good for you to also mention these things verbally to the child's teacher when you sign them in.

We sincerely hope you and your family have a pleasant and welcoming experience here at Covenant.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Right Track Children's Ministry is always on the look out for loving adults and teens to serve on our Children's Ministry Team. There are many ways to serve as assistants, teachers, office help, snack helpers, special event teams, and more. We need vounteers and teachers in our nursery, preschool, kindergarten, Kidmo, and World Changer Programs.

To learn more about how you can get involved and be a part of the team that is shaping this generation of the church and reaching out to kids that need to know about Jesus, please contact Mrs. Gail at 304-876-2212 x33 or email me at gscheffers@covenant-mail.com. We will mail you a screening form, along with a brief description of our policies. Once you return the screening form, we complete reference checks and background checks on all volunteers serving in the classrooms and nurseries.

Experience is always helpful, but not required. Commitment is necessary, but we do allow our up and coming volunteers to figure out how and where to serve according to their gifts and calling. We basically want people who love kids and want to build relationship with them to help them on their journey to following Jesus. Teacher Training is also offered throughout the year.
