Passionate Faith Trusts God

This week we shift our focus away from dating, to trust God and what does that look like as a follower of Jesus. You will find the outline and discussion questions below.

Outline
Lamentations 3:25–26; Isaiah 40:31; Philippians 1:6

Big Idea

A passionate faith doesn’t panic when life gets hard — it learns to trust God’s character, timing, and promises.
·       Trusting God When Life Feels Heavy

Lamentations 3:25–26
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him… It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Points to Ponder
1.     Trust is rooted in God’s goodness — not our circumstances.
2.     Waiting is not weakness.
3.     Quiet trust builds deep faith.

Application
o   When friendships fall apart
o   When prayers feel unanswered
o   When family stress rises
Trust says: “God is still good.”
·        Trusting God When You Feel Weak

Isaiah 40:31
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…”

Points to Ponder
1.     Everyone gets tired.
2.     God renews; He doesn’t just patch.
3.     Trust produces endurance.

Application
·        Pray when exhausted.
·        Worship when discouraged.
·        Stay connected to God’s Word.
·        Trusting God with Your Future
Philippians 1:6
“He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion…”

Points to Ponder
1.     God started something in you.
2.     You are a work in progress — and that’s okay.
3.     God finishes what He starts.

Application
·        You don’t have to have your whole life figured out.
·        Trust God with your career, relationships, and purpose.
·        Growth is a process, not an instant transformation.
IV. What Passionate Trust Looks Like Practically

  1. Praying before reacting.

  2. Choosing obedience even when you don’t understand.

  3. Refusing to quit spiritually when emotions shift.

  4. Remembering past faithfulness to fuel present confidence.
